INTRODUCTION
Welcome!
Through the website, we hope to let you know more about Animal DNA and the different aspects of it.
How much do you know about DNA? What is the full term for DNA? It stands for Deoxyribonucleic Acid. First things first, the DNA structure is the only common molecule capable of directing its own synthesis. It was observed that, as cells divide, chromosomes moved around in a cell, and people began to wonder what their function was and thus found out that chromosomes were made of protein and DNA, about which people at that time were not very knowledgeable about. People began to suspect that chromosomes had something to do with genetics but they just could not lay a finger on HOW or WHY, so research was done and when enough evidence was accumulated to confirm that chromosomes did have something to do with genetics, most people had the misconception that the protein found in the chromosomes were partly a genetic material. People knew about DNA in the chromosomes, but due to its then unknown structure, not many came across the thought of it being the actual genetic material.
